About mary heim, lpc

You don’t have to carry this all on your own.

I’m a Milwaukee-based anxiety and life transition therapist who specializes in supporting high-achieving women in finding their most authentic selves.

Please hear me when I say:

You can find joy in your life again.

You remember a time when anxiety, burnout, and a lost sense of self weren’t the “norm” … but those days feel like a distant memory. Don’t you wish you had the tools to change that?

You’ve come to the right place.

I’m Mary, and I help high-achieving women just like you: ones who have it within them to embrace their wholehearted selves and find joy again, but just need the support to get there. I help my clients find purpose, peace, and fulfilment by equipping them with the tools they need to heal past wounds, change old and unhelpful patterns, and embrace their lives wholeheartedly.

How I work

At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that we all have the ability to heal and find joy, balance and purpose right here and now.

Many of today’s solutions for anxiety and life transitions are overwhelmingly sterile or attempting to be one-size-fits-all. I know that your circumstances are unique, so every step we take is tailored both to bring you immediate relief from your struggles as well as ensuring long-lasting healing and change through radically shifting how you meet your life on a daily basis. Through our work together, we’ll find a therapeutic balance that lights you up - we’ll probably laugh, sometimes cry, maybe cuss a little bit (if that’s your thing) - but ultimately together, we’ll name what’s keeping you stuck, make meaning of the hard, and move forwards towards the good.

Therapy with me is…

  • You’re more than just the struggles and pain that have brought you to this point. Our work together will acknowledge the whole of who you are, not just the hard parts.

  • Change rarely happens without challenge. I’m the kind of therapist who will meet you with warmth, compassion, and a well-placed call-out when necessary. All are important in the therapeutic process!

  • One of my core beliefs - not just as a therapist, but a fellow human being - is that there is joy to be found amidst the hard. Together, we’ll make room for both.

  • I’m a firm believer that we all can heal and find meaning in our lives, no matter what cards we’ve been dealt. True healing means finding lasting peace with your story, and we can get you there.

Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we'll ever do.
